IE8 Review - Internet Explorer 8 in a nutshell

In this ie8 review, we will look into the features and limitations of Microsoft Internet Explorer 8. IE8 is released with Windows 7 and is the most  widely used web browsers to access the internet.  Features of IE8 include: Simple Tab Navigation, Instant Search, RSS Feed Updater, Accelerators,  InPrivate Browsing, Pop up Blocker.

The first key feature of ie8 is simple navigation. IE8 uses tabs to organise separate websites.  The difference between previous versions of Internet Explorer is IE8 highlights most recent Tabs with a green glow to distinguish the last used tab; a neat feature as having more than six websites open at once make it hard to see the header of the website you are viewing.

The next key feature is Instant Search; similar to other  web browsers,  a search bar is located on the right of the address bar. This makes it easy to instantly search the topic you are after. The search is carried is out using Bing - Microsoft's  premium web search service. You wont have to type in the search engine website in the address bar to access search!

RSS Feed Updater (RFU) is another key feature of IE8.  An RSS feed is information that is submitted real-time via a RSS file. You can subscribe to a RSS Feed using IE8 and the web browser will provide real-time updates when the RSS Feed has changed. This is very useful for displaying current information such as weather forecast or the latest news.

Accelerators can be added to IE8. An accelerator can enhance the performance of a website, or simplify navigation so that you don't have to access several websites for the same information. For example, instead of manually copy and pasting a line of text into a search engine to search for websites with similar information, you can highlight text from a website > Right click and search with Bing... Simple!

Moreover, a new feature is InPrivate Browsing; selecting this option in IE8 will prevent IE8 from storing  internet history, cookies and other private information on your computer.  This is important when using password sites that can store your password for next time. Using InPrivate Browsing will prevent anyone to follow your internet activity and stop other people accessing important information  such as credit card details.

The final feature covered in this IE8 review is  Pop-Up Blocker. Pop-Up Blockers used to be an add-on in the early versions of Internet Explorer, but is now a standard feature.  However, IE8 has a more advanced Pop-Up blocker which can block malicious code that could infect or harm your computer. The blocker can also block annoying advertising.

In summary,  IE8 has several excellent features that improves web browsing performance and user experience.  The new tab feature makes navigation a breeze and instant search simplifies searching the web for information without manually accessing a search engine website to search.  I guarantee you will be more productive with IE8. If you have Windows XP, 98 or Vista; you should download the new IE8 today and experience Internet Explorer like never before!
